With a strong passion for disrupting and resetting the world, Okash formed the base of his profession for public policy and international development at the intersection of local and global communities, Social innovation, impact, and cross-sector partnerships.

Mohamed Okash is a researcher, educator, and ecosystem Builder. His work focuses on the intersection of climate change, development, governance and public policy. He is YELP Fellow and the Valediction of the class of 2019, a Global Shaper, and a Climate Reality Leader. Currently, he is the founding director of the Institute of Climate and environment at SIMAD University in Mogadishu.

He conducts analytical studies and research in the intersection of policy, technology and governance to connect the dots for building back a better Somalia. Also, he loves to craft powerful stories, ideas, and insights about the most critical issue in Somalia to spur conversations that matter through his blog.

Mr. Okash is an influential thought leader who challenges the status quo with a strong passion for systems change and social justice. He has deep expertise and knowledge for designing solutions and pioneering possibilities with and for communities and businesses. He is enthusiastic to learn, adapt and contribute continuously to a better-led and served world.
